The risk of returning to lockdown measures due to COVID-19 remains very real if countries do not manage the transition with extreme caution. This, according to the Director-General of the WHO, Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus.
Speaking at the WHO’s Media Conference on Wednesday, he said they are observing divergent trends within the different regions and countries.
Dr. Ghebreyesus said each country and region needs a tailored approach and added that the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic goes far beyond the numbers of cases and deaths.
