Trinidad and Tobago’s weather: Saharan dust surge from today

Here’s a look at today’s weather forecast courtesy the Trinidad and Tobago Meteorological Service:

For the period today until Midnight:

Trinidad, Tobago & the Rem. of the Lesser Antilles

Sunny, hazy and windy conditions are expected despite occasional cloudy patches with a 40% (medium) chance of a few brisk showers. Tonight will be mostly clear and cool.

There is a moderate concentration of Saharan dust in the atmosphere. Persons who are susceptible to such should take the necessary precautions.

Earlier this week, the Met Office advised the public about a surge of Saharan dust expected from Saturday with sensitive people beginning to feel discomfort from Friday.

It said the dust event is likely to be a lengthy one and will possibly persist beyond May 9.
