SOME PEOPLE COMMITTING FRAUD FOR SOCIAL ASSISTANCE, SAYS MINISTER OF SOCIAL DEVELOPMENT, CAMILLE ROBINSON-REGIS :

PEOPLE WHO DON'T NEED FOOD CARDS APPLYING.

THE MINISTER SAID, THERE IS A DATABASE, AND THE FRAUDSTERS ARE BEING IDENTIFIED.

IN ONE INSTANCE ONE PERSON SAID THEY LIVING A CERTAIN PLACE FOR 10 YEARS, THE RECOMMENDER SAID 7 YEARS, AND THE LANDLORD SAID THEY LIVING AT THE LOCATION FOR 6 MONTHS.

THE MINISTER STATED, NO SMART MAN AND SMART WOMAN TACTICS WILL BE TOLERATED.

THE MINISTER SAID, SOME PEOPLE WERE TRYING TO USE ONE IDENTIFICATION CARD, TO ACQUIRE GRANTS UNDER DIFFERENT NAMES.

FRAUDSTERS WILL BE REPORTED TO THE POLICE.
