Coronavirus update: Cruise ships leave Australian waters | ABC News

The number of confirmed coronavirus cases in Australia has climbed to 5,552, with the death toll rising to 30.

New South Wales is still the state with the highest number of cases.

0:39 – A huge operation in Sydney Harbour to re-stock and re-fuel five cruise ships has concluded and the vessels have now left Australian waters.

4:10 – Austrailans are being warned to be wary of faulty coronavirus home-testing kits.

6:33 – Hundreds of Australians remain stranded overseas as international travel restrictions become increasingly stringent.

7:02 – The global death toll from the coronavirus has now surpassed 60,000.

7:32 – More than 8,000 people have died from COVID-19 in the USA, with about half the deaths in New York state alone.
