BEHEADED IN THE BAMBOO GROVE

THE body of a Moruga man, with the head almost decapitated, has been found in a forested area behind his home.

Marvis Joseph, was reported missing on Tuesday by his father, who found his son’s home ransacked and bullet-riddled.

Curtis Joseph, 63, of Penal Rock Road, Moruga, went to the Moruga Police Station shortly before midday Tuesday and reported that he was told gunfire had been heard at his son’s home at La Lune.
Cpl Roopnarine and a party of officers accompanied Curtis Joseph to the small wooden house.

Officers found a trail of blood in the yard leading into the house.

The door was unlocked and the man’s house appeared ransacked.

Crime scene investigators retrieved six spent 5.56 shells from the scene.

Insp Prescott, Sgt Toussaint and officers from the Canine Unit with tracker dogs, together with a group of residents combed the forested area surrounding Joseph’s house.

Around 9 a.m. yesterday, his body was found in a bamboo grove.

The area was cordoned off as crime scene investigators searched for evidence.

Police said they do not have a motive but suspect a narcotic link in the killing.
